A fast-paced contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy, combining classical text with modern theatrical storytelling. Through confessionals, voiceovers, direct audience address, and stylized staging, the production explores the emotional and political collapse of two people whose love reshapes empires.
At the center are Mark Antony and Cleopatra — torn between passion, power, reputation, and survival — while Octavius Caesar quietly builds the future that will replace them. Around them stand loyal followers, political strategists, and wounded witnesses, each struggling to hold onto identity as alliances fall apart.
This adaptation focuses on the human side of Shakespeare’s epic: the fear of losing control, the need to be remembered, and the performance people create to survive in public life. The result is intimate, theatrical, emotionally direct, and accessible for contemporary audiences.

Was passiert, wenn private Gefühle zur öffentlichen Inszenierung werden?
Eine moderne, temporeiche Bühnenfassung von Shakespeares Tragödie. Klassische Sprache verbindet sich mit heutigen Erzählformen wie Interviews, Voiceovers und direkter Publikumsansprache zu einer emotionalen und politischen Geschichte über Macht, Liebe und Kontrollverlust.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen Mark Antony und Cleopatra — zwei Herrscherfiguren zwischen Leidenschaft, öffentlichem Druck und persönlichem Untergang — während Octavius Caesar im Hintergrund eine neue Ordnung erschafft. Um sie herum kämpfen Vertraute, Strategen und Weggefährten darum, ihren Platz in einer zerfallenden Welt zu behaupten.
Die Inszenierung konzentriert sich auf die menschliche Seite des Stoffes: den Wunsch, erinnert zu werden, die Angst vor Bedeutungsverlust und die Rollen, die Menschen spielen, um Macht und Nähe zu erhalten. So entsteht ein direkter, zugänglicher und emotionaler Zugang zu Shakespeare.
Eine Geschichte über Liebe, Ehrgeiz und den Preis öffentlicher Aufmerksamkeit.
